*Official* UFC Thread

There's always been talk about them fighting (fans and what not), especially when Silva was doing a few bouts in 205. But, I've never seen or heard either one of them wanting to fight each other, it was usually not wanting to fight each other. Anyways, I think that fight would be like Royce Gracie vs. Ken Shamrock if the gods of peanut butter were to get involved.

I was pretty sure I heard they had always said they would NOT fight each other because they trained together and were friends. I don't think they would stop UFC from trying to force them to fight if they though it benefit them but I don't see that happening.

Didn't see fight, but hoped Couture would have dirty boxed his ass into a KO!

Silva needs to fight more often. I watched the last round on the net. Ok, so messed him up for many rounds....but a real fighter takes it and takes it and can still take advantage. Silva seemed in great shape. He was punished but still had the mindset to take advantage of a split second opportunity for that submission.

To me that's the better fighter. And I give him HUGE credit for not letting it goto the judges. Sure the judges would have made Silva a loser. But he didn't let it get there. Which is the prime rule in UFC.

Couture took him down, mounted him, pounded on him briefly then submitted him. I think a LOT of ppl wanted to see Randy punish Toney but I think Randy wanted to make sure he got it over with right away. I don't think he wanted to take any chances he didn't have to.

Anderson did the right thing. That was Sonnen's fight to loose and he did just that. He got sloppy and it cost him. I"m sure the rematch will be interesting. We'll see if we see a repeat or if we see a different Silva.

Mir vs. Nog tomorrow whos going?

isnt Ryan Bader on this card? if thats the case it is going to be one bad ass PPV

No this is gonna be Mir vs. Cro-cop. Big Nog dropped out.

Little Nog is going to fight Bader. That's a fight I'd like to see.

Sean Sherk is gonna fight Chris Lyttle too.

All three look to be good fights! I hope Cro-Cop KTFO's Mir. I don't think he will but I'd love to see it.

you know... now that you say it i remember the previews being mir/cro-cop. i would really like to see Mir vs big Nog, both are BJJ bad asses and both have solid stand up.

Bader is going to destroy little Nog i am hoping.

Frank Mir needs to drop to 205... he would be a terror in 205 he is just a little too small and cant take the hits that someone who is naturally a brick **** house @ 300 pounds delivers. hell Lesnar's fat head didnt like getting punched by Carwin.

Lesnar tried to stand with Mir and even Mir tee'd off like he was a pinata, I wonder if cro cop could exchange with him?

Mir has already fought big Nog and absolutely embarrassed him

Anyway, as for tonight's entire production, I thought it was the worst UFC ever. It was just all-around a snooze fest. I will say that I am ALWAYS entertained by every single UFC production. I can't stand it when people whine and cry about how the card was horrible and so-on.....but tonight I witnessed my first "bad" UFC card. There was just no energy in any of the fights. Mir is my favorite fighter and I was still really really really disappointed in how incredibly boring the fight was.

I thought it was so boring, in fact, that I turned it off with a minute left in the final round :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

It wasn't until a little while ago that I found out Mir knocked him out
