be prepared to answer questions...starting to get a build sheet for a 427 NA daily driver.

For starters, I'm planning on going with a CHP/Dar sportsman block. CHP has a pretty good rep. and I figure I might as well go with a better block in case I feel like changing things up...

This build is gonna take about 8 months since I'm your typical broke teenager.....with a management position coming in about 2 months with a nice raise. So hopefully between that, my tax return, living free , letting the car sit (not paying for gas or insurance saves A TON of money...insurance companies don't like 18 year olds with cobras), and selling my vortech along with several other things off my 306 I'll have enough to do this build right the first time.

good thing is....I have plenty of time to research everything

Soooo......just letting y'all know whats up

Might be willing to take the engine off your hands. I've been looking for a Cobra motor for my V6. I'm not in a rush so I can wait until you're ready to pull the engine. PM me if you're interested.

The motor will be coming out in about a month once I get my vacation. I'll be sure to let everyone know what's being parted once it's out.

Are you planning on staying EFI or go carb? I'm planning to do something similar in a year or two, but I don't ever plan on keeping it as my DD after that, especially with the turbo setup. That thing'll get 2 mpg by the time I'm done

sweet blackvert, since yours is gonna be a daily driver I think I'm gonna follow yours fairly closely.

No idea on the price on anything yet, I'll let you know when I pull everything

That's pretty much what I'm doing...getting everything down that I'm gonna buy and then buying it when the money comes around. The money that I'm saving on gas and insurance from letting the car sit will save around 300 a month by itself so it shouldn't take too long to get it up and going. I'm shooting for aroung 450 to the wheels...I figure with a 427 that shouldn't be too hard to accomplish while keeping it a DD.

Don't get me wrong...I like the 306 with the vortech....but I just want something with a LOT more torque downlow.
