Oil galley in 4.6L head...where does it go?

So I dropped a coil pack bolt on to the top of a bare head (valve cover removed)....and it fell down this, what I assume, is an oil galley?

My question is...where does this oil galley go? To the oil pan?

This is a 2V 4.6L SOHC motor from a 2000 Town Car.

Trying to figure out how I need to go about retrieving it.
