I agree about the crankcase ventillation likely being at fault. The bypass line (oil filler to CAI) is used to fill the crankcase (from the CAI), but it has a secondary purpose of assisting the primary PCV line at WOT. THis is when the bypass line can kick oil into the CAI.

I'd ensure the primary PCV is up to snuff. The simple bandaid for right now would be to run an oil separator on the CAI to oil filler hose. This will knock-down most of the oil before it reaches the CAI.

Good luck.

I had that same problem when I put in the Trickflow upper. The baffle on the lower intake is too damn short and doesn't block all the oil from getting sucked up through the PCV. Just run a catch can (not the small air compressor type one) in between the PCV on the lower intake to the upper intake. Solved my problem

Should i just put in a new PCV and the screen under it??? Or is this a bigger problem?

94gtstang--Which catch can do you mean? I useto have the air one but always got clogged. I cant find a bigger one

I use something like this. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM-G1472&N=700+115&autoview=sku
I put two hose fittings on each end so the oil would just fall into the catch can. It looks ghetto, but it works.

How bad would it be to install a breather filter on the V/C and block of the PCV?

Guero, you'd really only want to run either PCV (with no breather) or just breathers. Mixing and matching leads to a lean condition (which you could probably just tune around - run a little rich).

With 94GTStang's insight, I like the idea of fabbing a baffle to fix the issue. Otherwise it's like cutting yourself where you need stitches. But instead of getting stitches (a baffle), you keep soaking through band-aids (using a separator, catch can, etc). It'd be best to get stitches (get the baffle corrected).

If you used breathers, I'd do closed ones with a remote dump so you dont have oilly vapor all over the engine bay.

Good luck.

Baffle: to stump or confuse, as was done to someone in this thread.

It's a metal flange that blocks the direct passing of air/oil out the PCV. They're quite important and often a source of issue.

Breathers: more than one. I'd run two on a HCI V8.

Good luck bud.
