Oil Pan Problems Help ASAP!!!

I just measured my oil pump and found it to be a quarter inch longer then stock from the block to the bottom bolts longest point... i think this is were my oil pan got the crack from... any options? tbe pump is a melling HV... im considering just making a small extension on the pan for extra clearence...

Is it touching the bottom of the pan? you could maybe just dent the pan a smidge, just so its not in constant contact

Basically made a custom oil pan... denting isnt my thing....lol

That's weird. What kind of pan are you running? You could always put a stock style oil pump back in.

Did this once. The pump made a hairline crack and would leak oil when hot. It took me a while to figure it out.

After trying to quickly and cooly tack the crack shut and proceding to blow a hole in the oil pan and light the rug under the car on fire (welders make A LOT of heat ) I pulled the pan off, ground the bolt down on the pump and got a stock replacement.

Now I have a Canton with PLENTY of room.
