The bottom line is that Ford designed the Mustang suspension geometry to create wheelspin in order to reduce drivetrain damage. The factory instant center is often in front of the bumper instead of at the center of gravity of the car (somewhere near the shifter handle). One must find a way to change the rear geometry to achieve the most efficient "bite" on the pavement.

There are several ways to address the geometry issue. Torque arms, lift bars, ride height, moving the control arm (upper or lower) mounting points, pinion angle adjustments, and so on.

There are several different designs of suspensions out there and they all have their pros and cons. They all work but must be properly designed for the specific vehicle it is installed upon.

My best 60 ft is a 1.79 and I have only a few components that contribute to this. I have stock v-8 springs that are cut, probably one coil, maybe a little more (don't know if they are helping me but seems to make the car suck down on the back wheels and I somehow get better traction than my buddies with uncut springs), mac subframes, mac upper and lower non-adjustable poly urethane control arms, 3.73 gear, MT ET streets 26x10.5 with 10-14 psi, 5 speed trans, no front sway bar, the battery is in trunk on driver side, all un-needed front end weight gone like smog equip, A/C pump and condensor, no windshield washer fliud, stuff like that. This is a cheap and effective set-up in my opinion. I ran low 1.8 60 ft with a stock 95 heads cam and intake, no power adder at a 13.21 at 102.6 mph driving tha crap outta it, also was able to pull a few low 1.90 sixty foots on street tires. Thats my imput on this.

Subscribing to this thread, because traction sucks on my car. I have no suspension mods, so I'm looking for the best set up also.
