Ok well finally thanks to the help from you guys I decieded on what brakes I am going to go with. The mach 1 kit from buyfordracing.com. If I am correct, it uses the same size rotors as the cobra's right? 13" Well As soon as I receive the money from the person buying the old tri bars, I will be ordering them. Now here a question though, Because the front brakes will be upgraded, And I think its much more important to stop before you can handle or go fast. Are the rear brakes on the cobra's any better than ours? Because if so I will be upgrading those at the same time as the fronts, before I start on the suspension.

Also I posted this in the talk forum, because I dont think its really technical. Just conversation.

I thought the rear caliper was the same on the gt as the cobra but the anchor plate the the caliper is bolted to is longer so it uses bigger rotors?? I think thats right.

if your strapped on cash then just go with the fronts.

I'm pretty sure the rear calipers are the same, you'll just need the brackets from the Cobra along with the anti-moan brackets. The Cobra rears are bigger and a vented rotor vs. the smaller solid GT rotors. Oh yeah you'll also need the Cobra pads as they are thinner to accomodate the thicker rotor.

Cobra rears are better... and they make a difference... plus if you do both together all of your brakes will match...

Now on the other hand to change ther backing plates from the GT ones to the cobra ones means you have to pull the axles... not hard but time consuming... Especially if you do not have a buddy helping you out...

Yes, they're what spaces the caliper further out.

FWIW, as of last month, the rear cobra brackets were no nation wide back-order. You may want to check on that.

I heard the same thing about my cobra rears last year and buyfordracing.com had them in stock... then I heard the same about my cobra control arms this year and I found some in stock...

Make some calls I am sure you can find some...
