OK - Friday I'm ordering a Randall's Rack

I guess your right....it has been so long since I messed with the J-car rack (5 years at least) that I forgot which side was which. Modifying the rack is easy since you can take off the plastic bellow and get to the mounting points to do a little work....and then flip the plastic thing over. Now that I have access to a machine shop I might just get me another rack and do some fabbing again. The only thing I do not like about these racks is that there is a lot of force thru 2 bolts that are very close together in the middle.....I wonder how much difflection there is.

just make the rack shaft longer(add 2 inches between the holes), and modify the housing, then you don't have to worry about the forces applied, the distance will be grater, and you can set it up to attach the tierod in back. been here before, this is scary.........daja vu?

now to find someone that can cut that set of teeth in that rack, where's my gear tooth vaneer???

ronstang, let us know how it turns out :nice:
