Alright I posted a thread about putting wheel spacers on my car last month. I went to purchase some a couple weeks ago but stumbled on a small problem. I was told that if I put spacers on the front wheels, it would put extra strain on my suspension. So Im looking for some advice...if I put some one inch spacers on the front of my car how bad would it be on my suspension??? I want to put these on to correct an issue I have with my wheels rubbing my sway bars. I believe this will correct the issue; however, I dont want to cause another problem by attempting to correct this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What year mustang do you have? I have a 2004 and the wheel width for the from is 9.5 inches. They rubbed on my sway bars when I turned the wheel all the way but now I manage without making extreme turns. I would not recommend spacers for the front. I had 1.25 spaces on my rear tires wich are 315's and The fender was murdering my fatties. I took the spacers off last week and my suspension feels alot firmer.

There's nothing inherently wrong with using a spacer, but a one inch spacer is rather large. It will increase the scrub radius, which will wear your tires out faster, and it will make a slight change to the roll center and wheel rate, but I doubt you could notice either unless you're measuring lap times on a road course, and maybe not even then. Have you considered a smaller tire?
