i have the chance to prchase a 331 or a 347 the blocks cost the same in my case what would you get . lets say cash is no object i wanna make hp but not a measly 10-30 areal amount.ALSO I HAVE A BLOWER RUNING 14PSI AND IF IT WORKS OT IM GUNNA GO TO TURBO . what block to get . also im gunna drive this on the street maybe 2 times a month.

have a complete engine to do swaps if needed. all my stuff in my sig aplies

A Non Roller Block can easily be converted to Roller. Two Simple Ways.... Run Link Bar Style Roller lifters (Crane) or go the cheaper way by running the factory Ford Style spider/dogbone lifter retainer set up. All you have to do to run the O.E. set up is line up the retainer/spider and drill and tap three hole's into the lifter valley. Insert Roller lifter's and dogbone's (lifter Retainer's) and bolt the spider down. There may be some minor grinding that has to be done for the dogbone's to sit flat and in place as well. Comp Cam's Make's a Retro Fit Kit For this type of set up.

What you really need to be asking yourself is, how high do you want to sping the motor (RPM) and, how often do you want to adjust your rockers.

You can make a lot of power with a hydrolic roller. if you dont believe me.. contact anderson motorsports. But, your not going to sping 9k rpm on a hydrolic roller either.

So, take into account what you have in the bottom end. crank, rods.. pistson. yadayada .

unfortunatly, you havnt given all that many specifics as to goals for the motor.

But, even a 331 with a good head, cam, intake combination (with a production block) will not live behind a power adder verry long.

A good friend of mine have tuned a 347, in a 93 LX with a lenteck C4. on the motor alone, it ran an 11.06@126 MPH. 2nd time out.
This was with a nitrous cam mind you.

We never did get a timeslip on the bottle. Motor couldnt take the power. but, it would have run 9's.. im sure of it.

I have pictures of the block, should anyone be interested. its not pretty ..

is this somthing youvedone or or your just thinking this because i coould buy a 331 with all foreged internals (93 cobra motor)and a 347 non rollermotor mexican block flat tappet style but i need it to work with the stuff in my sig what would you say is better

I've personally converted a non roller block to roller and as I said before it is very simple. There's tone's of other hot rodder's doing the same thing out there, and tone's of guy's on Stangnet who have done it as well. It's not uncommon these day's to do the conversion.
It's hard to say which engine would be the better pick as you dont list all the specific detail's... Need All the detail's.

You can use the Ford Setup. Comp Cam's make's a resonally priced retro-fit kit you can buy.You don't have do grind the dog bone's. It's were the dog bone's sit on the lifter bore's that at time's may need some minor grinding so the dog bone's will sit flat.
