Here's a pic of my 86 in 1999 back when my buddy owned it. It was taken just before he covered it up and bought a truck for work. I bought it from him in 2004. and it was in significantly worse shape, but that won't always be the case. Anyway, Enjoy.

Well it only has 59,000 original miles on it right now, but it sat under a crappy car cover in sweltering Texas heat without being driven for 4-5 years. During that time it was hailed on more than once, the paint oxidized and faded, the black hood decal developed a million cracks along with the dash pad. The hood cowl panel cracked and faded. All the black trim faded and all the weatherstripping/seals dried out and cracked. The tires on it rotted. All the seals in the auto trans dried up so it wasn't driveable. I had to trailer it from Texas to Georgia. I have since moved back to Texas and I'm proud to report that I drove it 850 miles back here without a lick of trouble. It was fully loaded plus me and a passenger and with the TKO tranny it got 26 mpg. I put a Cervini's 2.5 inch cowl hood on a few months ago. and I've got a ton of projects going on with it right now. I'll try and get some current pics of the whole car to add to this thread but it's tough cuz I can't move it out of the garage. The whole rearend and rear suspension are removed right now.

Man there are few fox Mustangs cooler than an '85-86 t-top GT. For me to get another hatch it would have to be either that, a '79 Pacecar, '82 GT or a real '93 Cobra.

My buddy has an 85 GT with just over 60,000 original miles on it sitting beside his house dieing. 2 yrs ago the stock 302 let go due to the original owners over use of nitrous. Its sat ever since. The paint is shot, the motors dead, but its straight as an arrow, and the interior is almost perfect. If I had the 5k he wanted for the car, and the 3000 mile 306 he has sitting for it Id be all over bringing that car back from the dead. Nice to see someone saving a good car.

Yeah I've had a lot of good times with this car since all the way back to high school. Getting it where I want it to be is going to be seriously long and expensive, but It will be worth it when it's done.
