I've never liked these cars since the 60's versions...but this latest iteration is just SACRELIGE! Glad the company owner is in prison, where he can't hurt us any more!

That's kinda neat. I noticed the rim on the car looked kind of like a Mustang rim. Sure enough, the car uses a Mustang as it's starting point.

Not a horrible look. Just a slight refreshing of the original design.

Even uses the side view mirrors. Inside looks weird not seeing the deep dishes around the gauges. I like how they put the component speakers in the door

The entire car is based on the S197 platform. I saw that when they first came out. Kinda interesting. There's another car out there that using the Mustang platform. I forget the name, but that thing is pretty sweet.

I'd rather have an original Avanti II.

Looks like a really really poor rendition of the S197.

Panoz uses the Mustang drivetrain and at least the instrument cluster for the interior, but has its own chassis.

Yes, that's what I was thinking of. But you're right, different chassis. Much lighter.

WTF was that?! Why?!

If I was going to build a luxury car, the Mustang is one of the last places I would start. Our interiors are cheap and hideous to begin with. That just looked like a Blue-haired version of our cars.

I never really understood the Avanti, or the owners of them for that matter. Same goes for the old Kaisers, which fell right in line with the avanti.

I can't say I like the new one either. I am curious what they'll be charging for one of those though....

IMO they are. This thing is nothing but a plastic POS on the inside. Things rattle and everything feels like a piece of PVC pipe. Even the leather on the seats is junk, and that diamond imprinted "leather" they put on the door is just a hideous joke.

Makes me really miss the interior of my GTO.

Really?

Apparently you have not owned an SN95 Mustang..

As I have discussed in the past, a GTO STARTS at about $33k, while Mustangs start at about $20k..

If you want to be surrounded with real leather, go buy a Benz or Beemer..

I can't understand why you would purchase an automobile that is "cheap" and "hideous" on the inside.

If I don't like the looks of something (much less $20k-plus on an automobile), I don't buy it. That's a helluva lot of money to spend on something that you only kinda like.

Isn't it?

I did own an SN95. And those were WAY WORSE! There was not even enough leg room in the front.

I don't like Benz or beemer interiors too much either. Those are cars that are trying too hard.

I agree with you. But I think most of the other interiors in cars are even worse. $20k doesn't buy you much of a car these days.

I would expect the leather to be atleast good enough that it wouldn't come unattached from the seat rail under the front of the seat, and have the shape of the airbags bulging out the sides of the seats so that it looks like an alien poking out of a victims stomach. Maybe some headliner that was not made out of the same material as the lining of my shoes. Just basic things like that the car is lacking, or could use improvement on to make it that much better.

Oh, and the trunk liner and mat could atleast stay in one place and be made out of better materials. Mine keep falling apart and popping off. It's terrible, I don't even want to look in there.
