one minute it runs good then next it decides not to

hey guys, new prob with my stang. i was crusin around with some friends...i was going around a turn at about 15 mph then once i got straight i punched it and a few seconds later i hear this click click click like the fan is hitting something. well i slow down and its real loud and then the car dyes. i start it up and there is a really really ruff idle and i have to give it gas to keep it running.. i thought maybe the coil wire came loose. but it was fine. so i thought maybe timming? i have no clue.. its a 302 with like 4k miles on it. thanks guys

My car did something very similar to that, verrryyy similar. It happened to be a rocker arm that came undone and the vavle wasnt opening. Maybe thats it?

whats the best way to check that? pull of the valve cover?

Yeah i had the same thing happen. Rockers somehow came loose and it suddenl ystarted running terrible. Pull of the valve covers and see if the rockers are on the heads tight....

well guys...it was the valve..exhaust #3 rocker arm crawled over and bent my push rod, my spring is compressed down more than all the other onces so i was told either the spring may be cracked or my valve may be bent i guess. any thoughts on that?

Hmm, mine was just loose. Id suspect that your running it too hard or your valve train isnt set up right for your cam. Did you swap a hot cam with stock valve train??

comp cams 220/488`, comp cams roller rockers and pushrods,

And were the springs matched to that set up or stock?

im not sure, im guessing they are matched with everything else thou

i think im gonna have her towed to a shop tomorrow so a professional can check out all the damage and fix it right.
