Only 1 Clean Valve on head?

Verified? not exactly, always seem to run and idle fine. surely something to look at once i get it back together, likely during next week as I'm really wanting to track down the ticking issue. Anyone have a good way to manually check a roller lifter to see if it would cause a tick? I know nothing other than to push on one and see if I CAN push it down.

I wish there were. Honestly, I'd just replace them since you're that far into the engine.

Inspect all your rockers and pushrods and guides too (if you haven't already).

Signs of a leak.. I think I've found that. The lower head bolt between #7 and #8 cylinder. The clean valve is in the #7 hole. I dont know if thats enough of proof but is very different then the others. Gonna inspect lifters and such in more detail now.

Looks like a lack of sealer in the lower head studs or bolts.

It did clean up good, Razor blade, scotchbrite and carb cleaner. All lifters/rockers/pushrods look fine. If I only knew what would tick off and on, mostly on.
Also, fwiw, with gas sitting in the head, no leaks in the valves.

If that motor is out of the car you will need to flip it upside down and hose the cylinders out with carb cleaner. Scotchbrite is known to kill motors.
