I'm interested in replacing the UCA's on my '68 street and track car this Winter. I'm currently running a set of reinforced stock arms with Pro-Motorsports wedge kits and a 1.75" drop. This setup works great but the main shafts and ball joints are in need of replacement so I'm thinking I might be better off just upgrading altogether.

My question is would the Opentracker Autocross arms be sufficient for non competitive track days and driving schools on road courses? I like the Road Race arms but they are out of my price range. I drive my car on the street regularly and at about a half dozen track days a year at places like Thunderhill and Sears Point....

Thanks,

Cool Video! - Some of the vintage Trans-Am racers use a bone stock upper arm as we did for our first three years of open track events. With the extra bracing and a new Moog heavy duty ball joint, our autocross arms will definitely hold up under track conditions.

Sounds good. By the way it sure was great to meet you at the Mini-Nats, I was the guy that stopped by late on Saturday and bought a set of perches from you at your booth. Are you going to be at the Fall Classic at Thunderhill by chance or should I just contact you by e-mail regarding the arms...?

We had a great time at Mini-Nats and I do remember you stopping by with your car. It was nice meeting you too, I've always liked the cars that get driven at speed on the track and are also street driven. Our orange car gets a lot of both too.

I'm not sure if I'll make it to Thunderhill. You can send me an email anytime - [email protected] .

restoman--I'm looking at the Autocross arms as well. I posted earlier w/ a similar topic for my 68 coupe. I'm going to order my spring perches tomorrow, and as soon as finances allow I'll go w/ the autocross arms. You should check out opentracker's web site. Some nice-looking pieces, and it already has me making up my wish list! :nice:

By the way, cool video!

If you don't mind my asking, what are you going to do with the old arms and wedge kits? Are they still serviceable? I don't want to step on any toes here, I've just been looking for an alternative to my stockers....
