Opinions of the p-1sc Procharger

I've had mine for about 5 months now.
I have the P1 with the 3 core intercooler.
Only thing that I've noticed it the Supercharger is extreamly loud all the time. Friends hear me idling from several blocks away. I don't mind it cuz I like when people give my car funny looks, but if your making a sleeper i'd sugest a quieter one.

I LOVE MY BLOWER!

8 PSI good to go
9 PSI stay out of the RPM
10 PSI bring a trailor for the parts your going to blow out of your motor. Yet to see a stock 99-04 GT take it.

The best thing about the P1SC is the self contained oiling system, if it goes it won't litter (contaminate)you engine oil with metal from blower explosions. It also is alot easier installation (no tapping the oil pan).

hope this is helpful,
BOOMER

save for the D-1SC you will NOT be sorry. I wish someone told me this when I got my P-1SC 3 years ago. Still works fine but I can only max out with a 16 psi pulley. Until I get the D-1SC upgrade (next winter) that is.. :D

I think Ive heard a d-1sc before and it was pretty freakin loud, but how loud is the p-1sc compared to the vortech v-2 or v-2sq. I dont want somthing that is obnoxious, but a little louder than the v-2sq is ok

IMO its easier to tap the oil pan once rather than have to change the oil. And I believe you have to remove the blower to do so. Not sure on that though.

If something happens to your blower OR engine though, with a non-self contained system, you could risk ruining BOTH. let's say your racing, you lose a rod, and all oil pressure, guess what? supercharger is gone too. it's really easy to change the oil, shouldnt take more than a few minutes. the drain is directly underneath the blower and you should be able to access it by crawling under the car, or from the top of the engine bay if you can get a good angle. if you have to remove the blower, it takes about 3 minutes to take it off (belt tensioner, 3 bolts holding bracket, intake pipe for the front)

that self contained feature and the fact that it comes with an intercooler are a major + in my book.
On the stock motor what psi are you guys running, what psi is safe with this blower

everyone always recommends the D1 because of the P1 leaks but fail to realize the case is the same on both of them. they are BOTH suspect to leak. the F1 series are the only ones so far that have really not had this problem.

with that said I recommend a P1SC-2 for a street car. it has more low end TQ and can compete with the D1 in HP on a built motor. this blower can easily support 600hp. I was going to get the D1 originally but after talking with my tuner Mike Dez I was convinced the -2 was the way to go. I have out dyno'ed a few D1 cars in both TQ and HP which equates to better driving on the street. No seal issues either.

Good Point. How would I get the p1sc-2 in a complete kit. They only show the p-1sc or the d-1sc in a kit for the 96-04. And the they dont give a description or comparison for every P-1sc blower, besides the numbers specs.

D-1SC can be made with the P-1SC head unit; when they make the D-1SC they replace all the seals so, just because I don't know (not trying to be an ass, just curious) how does the P-1SC- II differ from the D-1SC if both their seals are different than the P-1SC?

And on my new setup I have a 16lb Reichard Racing non-slip pulley; with a complete forged bottom end; no new #'s yet though.

the impellar design of the -2 is taken from a Garrett turbo design and is class legal for NMRA real street use where the D1 is not.

on a stock motor such as mine the -2 has proven to outperform the D1 in both average power and Tq. the under the curve stuff is what makes the car more fun on the street. the D1 is capable of more peak boost and CFM than the -2 but most street cars don't operate in the range where the D1 excel's.

as for the question as to how to get it in kit form contact Mike at www.dezracing.com and he will order you a kit any way you want. tell him Paul with the Orange gt recommended him. I got mine as the standard P1 kit with -2 upgrade, sheetmetal upgrade on the cooler and deleted pump and chip since both of those parts aren't worth the extra 200. Mike can get the kit exactly the way YOU want it....
