the impellar design of the -2 is taken from a Garrett turbo design and is class legal for NMRA real street use where the D1 is not.

on a stock motor such as mine the -2 has proven to outperform the D1 in both average power and Tq. the under the curve stuff is what makes the car more fun on the street. the D1 is capable of more peak boost and CFM than the -2 but most street cars don't operate in the range where the D1 excel's.

as for the question as to how to get it in kit form contact Mike at www.dezracing.com and he will order you a kit any way you want. tell him Paul with the Orange gt recommended him. I got mine as the standard P1 kit with -2 upgrade, sheetmetal upgrade on the cooler and deleted pump and chip since both of those parts aren't worth the extra 200. Mike can get the kit exactly the way YOU want it....

did you order the blower from him or just call and talk with him?

Mike is very knowledgeable with the Prochargers....its what he races with and the only blower he sells out of the shop. He has quite a few mod motor cars out of the shop with em and a few guys on this board besides myself.

his bypass is probably leaking boost... either that or his boost gauge is not tapped in a good spot for vacuum readings.

yeah and your opinion matters when you don't even have a KB or Procharger on your car??

he asked about Prochargers obviously because thats what he can afford and they are by far the best centri for the money.

I know this board is a big KB bandwagon but someones gotta buck the trend.... besides how competitive are KB cars in FFW or NMRA?? oh wait...they're not!

he was probably just suggesting it because of the instant torque they provide, but they are pretty pricey unless you get a 1.7L non-intercooled: i believe it is 3799 for that...so technically the guy could afford it if he wanted to buy that..
(im sure that guys shop recommended the procharger because they specialize in that)

Personally i favor the Vortech SQ or Paxton Novi 2K and if someone ever gets REALLY tired of the S-trim, i can just upgrade to a T-Trim

yeah I didn't make that statement to be an *******.. I just get sick of this boards buy KB its the best and only blower out there attitude.

they are the most expensive kit to have some of the cheapest looking parts in the kit. for example the big air tube upgrade ghetto flexpipe.

I know guys have run decent times with them and they have a wide powerband and I respect that. but they are not the best blower for every application like everyone wants you to believe. and they also have problems with the snout leaking and pulleys breaking off so are not the most reliable either.

basically what I'm getting at is you need to look closely at exactly what your long term goal is for the car and pick a blower based on that... especially if your gonna put out well over 5k. I just found that I could buy alot more for the extra 1500 I saved not buying the KB that in the long run would help me out more.
