I am soon to help a friend build a 306 from his stock 93 block. Seeking just as many horses as physically possible from a 306. What intake manifold do you all suggest and what work should be done to it to squeeze out all we can, i.e. port, polish etc.???

Huge heads, .650"+ lift cam with alot of duration, full longtubes (1-3/4"), Sheetmetal "breadbox" intake, 90mm throttlebody. Will have to spin 7000rpm+ So a strong/stable valvetrain is a must.
Might want to think about forged crank/rods also.

The Victor 5.0 or a converted Vic Jr. The Victor 5.0 is a true EFI designed air gap. It is the best high rpm efi intake there is. You will need a tremendous amount of cylinder head and cam to make it work.

UPS is dropping off a Victor 5.0 for me today. But if my heads werent ported I'd go with a RPM II. In Jan 2006 issue of 5.0 they tested the SSI, RPM II, SysteMax II, Track Heat, and GT-40 on a 347. The SSI was almost identical to the GT-40 on the dyno, and the other 3 posted within 5 HP of each other with the RPM II just barely squeezing out 450 for the highest HP. But the TFS is a lot less $$$ than the others... made in China perhaps?
