Just found a real good deal on some barely used longtubes. They are BBK's. I've always been a Ceramic guy, but for this price I think I might buy them. Just wondering what your guys exp. has been with chrome headers.
I'm not worried about them turning blue becuae they'll match the car lol, just wondering about durabilty down the road..rusting, flaking, etc...

I keep saying I could always send them to JetHot in a few years if they begin to look like crap.
I'm running BBK 1 5/8 Ceramic shorties now and they still look great after 2+ years. The headers in question are 1 3/4 LT's so I'm a bit excited about the power gains as well.

I had BBK chrome shorties for 3-1/2 years on my car. They were on it when i bought the car so im sure they were on atleast 4-5 years total. They do turn blue, and began to rust in some spots, but nothing too bad. If the price is right grab them.. If they look like shiit someday, just jet hot em.. Easy enough.

If you want them to stay chrome then go to your local Harley dealer and pick up some anti blue pray/polish and apply it to the headers that's what harley guys do to keep their pipes from turning blue if thats your concern.

Overall, it sounds like a pretty good deal. IMO, chrome is just a pain to keep clean and looking nice.

I like yellow1995Cobra's idea. Good luck Chris!

Cool man. I am curious as to the difference (if any) in power you will see going from the 1 5/8 shorties you are running now.

Atleast 15hp I'm thinking..those things gotta be chocking my motor up. Most people with mild setups say the notice a huge diff when yhey go to LT's...with the stroker, H/C/I and a blower I think it will help.
Thanks

At least you can drive down to Jet Hot and avoid postal charges being that you live in the Phoenix area where JH is located!

I am in the same boat as you. I am looking at getting an offroad X-pipe and am looking at either a Bassani or Dr. Gas as I have heard these two are the best as far as quality/fitment. For sound I would assume they all sound roughly the same.
