I am really interested in getting some flamework done of my 89 vert, but after the new paintjob i know i won't be able to afford it for a looong time. So, I was considerign trying ot do it myself. I am wondering if it is too unbelievably hard for me to even attempt and to take the chance of seriously screwing up my car. I can't find any1 in my area that would be willing to help for a low price, so i'd pretty much be on my own. I have the equiptment to paint, but probably not the skill  What's your take, has any1 tried this? got any tips?

Buy a vinyl, not only are they cheap, they last a long time and are so easy to install that you have to be pretty stupid to screw one up. And the nice thing about the vinyl is that if you dont like the way your pony looks with flames, you take off the vinyl...Its that simple, I wanted flames on my stang and couldnt afford paint, I thought about doing it myself, but I knew that I didnt have the money to fix my whole paint job if I screwed up the flames. So I went and got a flame kit from www.decaldriveway.com they have great customer service and the vinyls are rated to last 7-10 years. Check out some pics....

Be it vinyl or paint, good luck man...

I had looked into getting vinyl flames, and i found ome that were just about perfect. The only thing is that I couldn't pick a color, and i really like the look of the custom one color fades into another thing. I think it would be MUCH safer to get the vinyl tho, and save the painted flames for a time when i have the money to get it done professionally.
