So my power steering rack pooped and is leaking like the oil rig in the gulf. I was thinking about the manual rack and manual steering shaft change. It is more expensive but the biggest issue is I already have the A/C delete that moves the P/S pump up. How can I delete the pump without changing to a standard rotation water pump or electric pump and adjustable alternator bracket? I do not have any of the A/C stuff off of the car. It was gone when I bought it. Any opinions or ideas? PICS? Oh it also has the AIR delete pulley and underdrives. TIA

You don't need the air delete pulley. Those are only for supercharged kits as they require the belt routing to stay the same. You simply route the belt a different way.

Search for " reversing tensioner" on here or google and it will show how to change the tensioner so it pulls a up allowing you do do what you want to do.

Thats awesome. Thanks for the link. Im gonna do a little searching just in case I can buy one for some other car that works without modifying. But if not I'll do that. I almost just bought a new power rack just to make it easy and cheaper but I think I'd like manual. Nice link by the way!

Heres a pic of mine, all i have is water pump and alt. This isnt routed properly cause my belt is a ribbed belt, but the only draw back i see in mine is the belt slips a touch and is kinda wearing a groove into the water pump pully. peace
