I like them, very easy to get extra power out of them.

Cam swaps alone net 50-70rwhp...

More so, than a 5.0L in my opinion...although the aftermarket is more expensive of course...

Read my name. The camaro is the reason why I started messing with stangs. I guess they got a decent motor but I'm not afraid of them...

As far as performance goes, very similar. There is a slim difference in the q-mile. Their 4l60e's are pretty efficient compared to the t-56.

The 10 bolt rear ends are a little weak if you want traction in the rear, you will want to upgrade...

they make decent power from the factory. but are heavy, harder to work on and cost more to mod.

IMHO sell yur car & buy a SS or whatever. It seems nowadays that everybody wants an ls1, Z28, SS. I remember back in high school beating LT1's with the little 302 5-speed ,3:73 gear, air silencer removed and the almighty flowmasters.. I guess times have changed Fox Bodies still rule in my book

The last part of that is completely wrong........................They are not that hard to work on and as for costing more . 3k in mods and i was making just as much power in the TA than i was with my supercharged 5.0 so much for costing more to mod, and that was through a stalled auto. 12.7@110mph with a crappy 2.2 60' and on a crappy 50shot of spray 12.3@117mph on another 2.2 60' that was on the old cam making 20rwhp less than it is now.

Auto cars are good that's what ours is, first mod you should do is a stall on those. A stall will put an auto car in the same ballpark as a T-56 performance wise.

Many LS1's I have come across are stock. The ones that were modded, all had problems. They all would hit their rev limiters. I never noticed with my Cobra, because I was so far ahead of them, but I remeber being a teen, racing one, in my 92 5spd GT. I only had Flowmaster weld in mufflers, and a BBK CAI, and I took one 3 times because his H/C/I LS1 hit the rev limiter in 2nd and 3rd gears!! If I were you, I would buy a stock one.

Test drive it... I personally don't like the interior at all... Fast cars though, I'd get an 03 Cobra

We were talking about these cars the other day. Full exhaust, cam, and LS6 intake and those cars are putting down 400 at the wheels. They are incredibly capable for what they are. And they get great gas mileage to boot.

They are highway screamers and cruisers at the same time.

Dont expect them to hold up very well though...and the dif is a piece of poo

This is the biggest draw IMO. Right out of the box they run hard but are relatively tame in normal driving. I considered getting one when looking for a second car but I ended up getting my '92. The overall size and shape of the car is what I'm sure I would've gotten tired of. I've always liked the LS1 Z28/SS but for some reason all of the 4th Gen F-Bods look like huge boats to me now (the new concept z28 might have something to do with that lol). The low seating position, which isn't really a bad thing, was something else I didn't want to deal with every day. With that said though, I do think its a good car for the money. I would definitely buy a stock one. I'm sure there are plenty of them out there.
