I've already invested money and time with the mods listed below into my 95 GT. I was going to get a super charger, rear gears and a desperately needed paint job but I've never had a super charger and I'm wondering if it's worth it. Are they that much fun? Are they as fun as getting a brand new top of the line 05 Mustang because thinking of getting that is what's held me back so far. I could put another $7 - $8K into what I have and it should be pretty quick and nice or sell it and go for the new. New is nice but I like my car.

So pretend that there is no issue paying for a new 05 Stang or spending another $8K on what you have.

What would you do?

Thats hard, Id have to test drive one first and make your decision based on that.

Good point.

I would put it into my trusty 5.0. I've nevery had a supercharger (or turbo), but you wouldn't use $7-8k getting one of those and making your car extremely fast. You could probably get a sc kit and a nice paint job for under $5500. '05= much more $$$ and monthly payments (unless you got loads of cash)

I should add that my opinion is influenced by the fact that I'm not a big fan of the '05 from pics alone. Final judgement is saved for viewing in person, but still...
...and then the 3V could have some sway...I HATE waiting dang it!

Very true all about the test-drive. That is certainly an important step. Plus you know how they like to beef up the models as the same body style gets older. I'm not even sure what all Ford will offer but if for instance, they offered a Cobra SVT in 05 it's more likely that just 2 years later, in 07, the same car might be putting out 20 or 30 more horse. That kind of scares me too.

Anyway, thanks for the input! I'm sure I’ll be pondering this for a while.

there is going to be very little aftermarket stuff for the 05 for a long time, so you will be stuck with the same car as all the other 05 owners. if you are ok with that idea, then i think you'll be happy with a new 05.

look at how long it has taken the aftermarket to come up with stuff for the 4.6, and how much more expensive that stuff is than similar items for the 5.0.

me? i'm not ok with it. i would rather take the money and put it towards making my car a one of a kind. i'd (1) paint, (2) deck out the interior, (3) upgrade the suspension and brakes, and (4) install a supercharged 347 stroker. i'd run out of money before i got through it, but that's what i would do.
