So we pulled the engine out, looks like a bearing is fryed.

I dont wanna put a used engine in....

I dont know if I should buy a engine overhaul kit with the crank and pistons/rods

or buy a shortblock from LMR

any other options?

It's a 87 Speed Density w/ AutoTrans

Im not looking for a huge hot rod engine...stock with bolt ons and nitrous in the future is fine with me..

Thanks again :)

Neither of those links are shortblocks.

And you kind of answered your own question. Stock with bolt ons...okay

Option A: You get the same thing but you have to assemble it. Pay for machining costs...hot tank, flux, honing, balancing, and etc.

Option B: Already assembled and close to the same price without the time and machine cost.

What exactly was the question?

Go the Hard more expensive way of course Option A. After all this is Stangnet

ROFL, yall are a trip tonight......must already be Miller Time :)

heres the link I was trying to post to the Short Block

in regards to the price difference....my Mechanic isnt gonna charge much for refurbishing/prep of the block and assembly of new engine parts.

Where would yall buy your engine overhaul kit from ?
I feel like I dont know where to shop about to compare prices on Short Blocks VS Engine Kits

Unless your mechanic has access to a machine shop or has all the equipment to check out the block. It still is going to cost more than the that short block.

Most people on this site would just find an JY Explorer motor and spray that.....mmmh myself included.

If the engine is toast and bearings material was bad enough it ate up the crank. Just go with the short block.

I understand the want to put new stuff in it, but without having the block checked out...you risk is less on the JY motor.

Lastly where do people buy engine rebuild kits
Summit, Jegs, TRE, DSS and more.

Budget kits are speed pro and scat kits.
