I have my regular cap and rotor on my 289 with 8mm wires and they are just basically mahing together. I want to put the wide cap and rotor on. Do I have to order it ( i'm guessing not) or can I tell them something at the local parts store. It looks like a cap and rotor from a late model 5.0, is that what I need? Is there some kind of adapter that I need. I know I will have to change my wire ends. Will the ford racing set fit my car good? Don't they come in red also?

Thanks

Thats it, you got it.
You will also need the bottom spacer that goes under the cap and clips to the dist. After you have this spacer you can buy a MSD wide cap kit that comes with high performance cap and rotor and plug wire holder. I would also get MSD wires so that they clip into there holder, works great with no spark scatter. LOOKS REAL GOOD TO.

Yea but most parts places dont stock that part, I think I bought mine from NAPA. PEPboys might have it in stock but dont order anything from them, they give you that 10 days bull *****. Napa or advance can have it the next morning.
O Yea,, Get the cap and rotor that has brass terminals, dont buy the aluminum junk. Get good kits from MSD or BLUE Streek. I did see my local advance auto parts now sells Blue Streek.

I know autozone has one-- I forget the number. If someone knows 5.0s they should be able to grab you one. I'm not sure if you needed a special rotor to go with it though- I'm drawing a blank on that one... if it's not answered by like tomorrow I can prob grab a p/n#
