ordered the et street radials

after the install of my cobra intake manifold drag radials are a must. my first gear is gone and so is the 1st to 2nd shift. just spins like mad. so i ordered a set of et street radials to throw on a pair of ten holes. whats the ideal tire pressure and what rpm to launch at at the track to be safe but still hook good? never been on drag radials before. guessing a 5 second burnout after wetting tires in the box, launch at 3500? with 18 psi?

I thought the ideal psi was 15...I could be wrong though

Those are questions you will have to find out on your own. Every track and car are different. My MT street radials hook like mad at 20 psi and a short burn-out. Only thing for sure is these tires rock

yeah thats why i ordered them. i hear only good things and they hook crazy good. hoping for 1.8 60 fts. ill start at 20psi and go from there.

I just got my pair today. Heres what M/T says on the website.

Inflation Pressures

On the racetrack DO NOT use starting pressures below 11 psi.
Recommend pressures for:

P295 and larger sizes: 11-14 psi
P275 and smaller sizes: 12-16 psi

On the highway we recommend running 75% of the max psi as notes on the sidewall of the tire.

Burnouts

The tread compound used in the ET Street Radials is designed to heat quickly and does not require a heavy burnout. Continue the burnout until the engine starts to pull down. We do not recommend a dry hop after the burnout.

Bead/Wheel Slippage

Some bead/wheel slippage may result during the course of a 1/4 mile (or 1/8 mile) drag race. This is normal.

Use of Bead Screws

If you elect to use bead screws, we recommend the installation of 16 equally spaced screws per bead.

Bead-Lock Wheels

For drag strip speeds in excess of 180 mph, Bead-lock wheels are highly recommended.

They're awesome tires, I'd be hopeless at the track without them. I launched at around 3000 rpm when I got my 13.2 and only had a 1.98 60', so you may want to launch higher.....I know I'll try next time, just hopefully I don't break anything.

No flames please, but I spoke w/ 2 different techs at Mickey Thompson, and they both siad Et Streets are better suited for 5 speeds, and the Radials are better suited towards automatics.
Not even my own humble opinion, but straight from the horses mouth.
I know alot of you guys are running them successfully, and good for you for that, just lettin' ya know what I was told!

best i've pulled bone stock suspension (sway bar removed) was a 1.80, i then got full length subframes, but my track lock went out that night, so no more running till it gets a rebuild (got the rebulid kit today) also lca's going on, i'm looking for consistant 1.7's

btw i have the "Little" 235/60/15's (ten holes) they hook pretty good, i probaly do alonger burnout than i should, but i like smoke , i launch around 4k

What do all of you think of the M/T ET street radials? Can they be used in the rain or daily drivers? Thanks

my buddy has a set on his '04 GT. They were ok in the rain when they were brand new, but after just a couple thousand miles they are showing quite a bit of wear. Last time I was in the car, we we cruising at about 50mph in the rain and the car hydroplaned and did a 360 in the middle of the road. Luckily there was no other traffic at the time, and he was able to avoid hitting the guardrail. I wouldn't recommend them for a daily driver. Nittos or BFG drag radials seem to be a little harder compound and might be better on a daily driver, but I'm not sure

My BFG's were horrible in the rain at 50mph when they were worn down a little. I do not reccomend it at all.

i run 15lbs no problems even on the 90 shot. vids in sig. 275/60r15's have a friend with same size cut 1.37 on them.

My Nittos were just as good if not "better" then my regular radials in the rain,and last between 10-15,000 miles..The new M/T radials are the mack daddy of DR's (on the track)

What wheels are you putting them on? Pony wheels? Let us know how they work, i'm looking to pick up a pair down the road to replace my nitto dr's. Hopefully they'll hook a 4.30 geared 347 good

drive around daily on mine and never have any problems they handle better than my kuhmos did

You know this is really a tuff ? to answer. Because it all depends on the track & How the car is setup. Do you have drag suspension?. I had my old car hooked up with drag stuff and ran the old E/T streets and use to run about 12lbs and I use to leave the line at 6000 rpms. Its really about how you have you car built. I had a lot of good parts on my car and never once broke at the track. You'll never get anywhere if your on a budget build up. Do it right and do it right the first time.

I think ur talking to me right, Im putting them on my pony's, although i think ill be going with the Nitto's. I need them to last long over hooking up good, ya know.And theyre also going on a daily driver. What are they called Nitto 555 or something or just Nitto drag radials? Thanks
