OT- forget about HS & College who's OLD here???

I'm 34 with a BS in Radiation Science Technology. I have a wife, dog, and a mortgage on a new house. I bought a 'used' stang so I could afford to build it up (something I've wanted to do since high school.) I graduated from college in 1999.

I'm 27, and have a BS in Biology. I worked in the coal mines as a belt vulcanizer while in school (which enabled me to buy my stang), and now I am a medical sales rep for the largest physician supply distibutor and now I wear a suit everyday to work... talk about a change!!! I bought my car in dec '97, just a few months before meeting my wife in Cancun mexico on spring break. She says if she would have met me a few months earlier I wouldn't have the stang. Even given that I'm a lucky guy. My wife has a BS in Communications, and a masters in Communication Rhetoric... she completed her masters in a year and a half with a 4.0!!! She is a college professor at Penn State's altoona campus. I could only have dreamed of having a professor that looks as good as her!!! We have a dog named Shelby, and my wife is itching to start a family. Now you know why I bought my wheels now!!! :spot:

I'm 21 and I've been playing Jr. hockey for the past 3 years and I've had my fun now I need to decide what I want to do for the rest of my life. Why can't I get a job that pays $100k a year to work on my stang. That would be the life.

35 here with a AA in Robotics/Automated systems. Its good to know that we have such a broad knowledge base. BUT what kills me is, you can take the most respected, well dressed, highest ranking, highest paid, etc... gearhead and we turn into complete idiots while sitting at red lights :D I am a car lover to the bone!!!!!!!

I wouldnt have married her just for that comment. :rlaugh:

I turn the BIG FOUR OH this year :( :bs:

I got my doctorate in pharmacy in 1991 (after 9 long years of school)..

BUT when I graduated, I was a teacher at first, and was only 26..that was one year less than the average age of the class I tought :rlaugh:

Now I work for Walmart, b/c that's where the big $$$ are!

Got my 5/3 house, 2 girls in private school, Lincoln Navigator and of course the trackless car!

NEVER too late to go to college. BUT, nobody said you wont have to sacrifice something to do it!

I also find that the more money I make, the less I seem to have to spend...

Man is that the truth. The house payment, 2 car payments, school loans, credit card debt, ect suck up enough each month for me to buy a turbo kit!!! I always said, when I make XYZ dollarsa year I'll be set... well I make that and more now and I'm no where near well off or set, I'm not hurting or wanting for much, but I'm living as easy as I thought I would.

Just think once you're "over the hill" gravity takes a new hold on you and you actually be quicker at the track if you ever go!!! :D :rlaugh:

As for my wife, in all seriousness, when I asked her to marry me I threw in a little "verbal prenup" stating that this marriage was contingent on the fact that she would never ask/tell me to sell my car unless we were living in a box on in an alley. She agreed. :owned:

Me too Rio, had a 67 Camaro with a Lingenfelter 383 for 12 years and sold it for family reasons. I DIDN'T know that very fine garage you got was a mid-life crisis buying spree though. I'm still jealous. Double nickle here with 5 more years of kids in College, so my buyihg spree will have to wait. :(

Hahaha, I've had that exact thought. I'm forgoing any serious toy purchasing this summer in order to put all of my available cash towards paying everything off (except the mortgage, of course). And I've got everything planned out now -- three months for a turbo kit & dyno tune, another month for the TKO, another month for the axles, differential, miscellanous whatever, and then three more months (after the turbo is installed) for the new DART shortblock to replace my cracked stock block. :rlaugh:

Or I could just start saving my pennies for an '07 Cobra. That makes too much sense, though, and a turbo would be more fun :D.
