I recently bought an 03 GT and it has had an issue with over heating. If I let it run for a while it will get hot without the fan coming on until the engine temp reaches about 245 degrees farenheit. The fan will come on if I turn on the air conditioning, but it does not cool the car. The dealer that I bought it from has looked at it twice and came to the conclusion that the radiator cap was not holding pressure so they replaced it, but I still have the same problem. Can someone help me out a little bit?

Its possible that the radiator cap was bad. That being said, the fan should still come on once the fan thermostat hits a certain temperature. Check the fan and make sure the thermostat for the fan is properly mounted and check the wiring coming from/going to it.

If the fan only comes on when the a/c is on, or when the car is already too hot, it is most likely your ECT sensor.
check your ect sensor and make sure your low speed cooling fan is working.
If the low speed is not working then you will have exactly what you have going on now. The fan will come on at very high temp or with the a/c on because thats when the ECU commands high speed fan.
Most likely cause of the low side of the fan circuit being inop is the CCRM ( constant control relay module) this is located in the passenger side fender well.
