I'm 19 and just got done with my 1st motor swap into my 1993 LX hatch. I swapped in a 347 stroker with less than 30k miles from my girlfriends dad. It was a solid motor no problems what so ever. I got it into my car with a new 3 core aluminum radiator, 180' t-stat, stock fan and it over heats and spills coolant out the over flow when I get on the gas. I bleed it multiple times. I changed the thermostat and flushed the system. I'm running no thermostat right now and it' runs perfect, a little cool, but no problems. What could be the problem?

Sounds like you had the thermostat in backwards if you take it out and it's running fine

first put the thermostat back in- not having it in will not allow the coolant enough time in the radiator to transfer the heat. Make sure you fill and properly burp all the air out of the system.

Other things to check Is the clutch on the fan working
is the water pump standard or counter rotation
what radiator are you using
is the water pump in good shape
DId you pressure check the cap and the system

My guess is you still ahve air in the system

Thermostat was in correctly. I cheked twice. And the water pump is fairly new. I have an SVE 3 core radiator for late model restoration and used my stock cap after thinking the other one was faulty. I have not checked the fan clutch yet. I have burped the system twice now and seems to not make a difference. What is the proper way to bleed the system? Maybe I'm doing it wrong

Would you have to put it in backwards with a counter rotation water pump?
