Figure I give you guys a cheap trick we used back in the late 60's - early 70's to keep the mustangs cool.
We used the radiator out of a Ford station wagon with a 390 ( possibly the countrysquire) It was a big 3 or 4 core radiator that dropped right in with no modifications except to redrill the mounting holes and maybe use a shorter fan spacer or -to remove completely the type of fan with a fan clutch. Its been awhile and I cant recall details as good as I used too.
They should still be available rebuilt from the radiator supply co's , you would just have to check the dimensions. I do recall it being from a 1968 wagon with a 390. I just dont recall the model.
My mustang back then never overheated - even with the AC on in the hottest day of an Arizona summer.
It was one of those pre-internet tricks that everyone just used by word of mouth to pass along.

Another one I ran across that I might do to my 65 is the 69-70 mustang 20 inch 4 core swap on mustangsteve's site. Not totally a straight drop in but nothing hard at all, it should do the trick.

Must have been fun playing with stangs back then huh? I could only dream, cheap gas, v8 music, no cowl leaks, no rusted quarters.........:D

lol, I'm not that old - it's still fun!
Only complaint I have is alot more traffic.
Nothing like the sound of a souped up 289 in a hotrod mustang,
or to just see a 1968 Shelby Gt500 " vert" - to make me feel like I am 16 once more.
