Oversized Oil Filter

Is there an oversized oil filter that can be used on the 4.6L, like a filter form a larger truck or something...

(For example on my 4.0L jeep I can use the filter speced for a 5.0L mustang which is about 3" longer in length but has the same exact thread, diameter, and bypass valve setting so it is OK to use, just more fliter area available.)

the filter on the f150s is the same as the one for the mustang. i dont think there is a larger one that will fit. besides the location of the filter in relation to the steering rack wouldnt make a larger filter possible.

Why would you want a larger filter in the first place ? If its for superior filtration, why not just buy a synthetic oil filter instead ?

insurance mainly, just in case. You could probably use a remote filter kit and install a larger one, but that's a lot of hassle for little gain.

it's for more flow area, therefore better/more flow

synthetic filter? I dont feel like paying $12 for a filter
