P0301 Error Code 2002 Mustang 3.8L V6

We have a 2002 3.8L V6 mustang that is very sluggish when taking off and seems to miss will cruising at a constant speed. The check engine light came and I had AutoZone tell me the code.

It is a P0301 which is cylinder 1 misfire. They told me the OEM cross number was P0316 which is the crank sensor failure.

I replaced the crank sensor and nothing changed...

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Did you reset the computer by unplugging your battery for a while?

Replace your spark plugs. I had similar symptoms and a Cyl 6 misfire code, and one of my plugs was cracked and shorting to the block.
