Well guys i was washing the stang 2day and i sprayed the bugs off the front and the water hit a small almost unoticible paint chip and it suddenly chipped away and grew to atleast a thumb size paint chip! what should i do...i got a couple chips on my hood and that one big one.....its ugly should i get some touch up paint and fix it myself or should i get the body shop to fool with it? im not sure wat would be the best way but i know what would be the cheapest....if your ideas are get the touch up paint the what are your guys opinions on making it look new?.......what to do?....ive never had a chip this big

I doubt touch-up paint will be able to do such a large spot and not be noticeable.

It wouldn't hurt to call around and get some price quotes for a bumper repaint.

Being that im a broke college student, i'd go the touch up paint route however

Probably repainting but guess you could touch it up for now until you got it repainted it. Could drive by a body shop & see what options you have...

I have a bunch of chips & pits from daily driving & i think my bumper looks horrible. I'd like to know what quotes you get to see what the range would be. eventually i know it'll need repainting.

Whether you touch it up or a body shop does it, the same process will have to be used for a 'thumb sized scratch' ... I don't know if you've ever done body work or painted before ... If not, let someone do it for you. If you have decent skills or can learn quickly, paintscratch.com has some decent info on how to touch up spots. Whatever you do, don't use a touch up bottle with a brush for a spot that big, it will look like crap!
