Thank everyone for all of their replies.
Still no one knows what happened to the paint, but the detailers have been giving me the run-around, so I suspect they may know what had happened.
- They told me that my car was waxed by hand - I told them that I watched them use the buffer.
- They told me that they did use the buffer, but only on the top of the hood (near the windshield) - I told them I watched them do the front of the hood twice, and the top of the hood once, after I showed them a large streak.
- They told me that they did not use rubbing compound ever - I walked into their garage and picked up a bottle of rubbing compound.
- When I asked to speak with their supervisor they told me that, he would not be in that day, that he would be in at 8:30am, and that he will not be in until 2:00pm that afternoon. When I should up at 2:00pm, I was told that he had been there all day since 6:00am and had just left a few minutes ago.
Monday I'm getting some quotes from a few paint and body shops.
Thanks again for everyone's help and suggestions.
