Painted my Pony wheels

i painted my wheels the same way after i saw your post. I painted mine with a gun and two part clear and wet sanded. They turned out awesome but i guess i didnt use enough wet shine because my tires still have paint on them but o well

I painted my Ponies with Dulicolor paint also (Silver) It held up nice for the 6 months or so i had them on.

Use a stiff bristle tire brush and it should get off what ever is left on the tire. Put some pics up of how they turned out.

Right now Im trying to find a used set of Pony R's to paint the same color as my 16's.

wow they look amazing, i think i want to get a set of old ponies for when i finally get some drag radials. that looks Fn sweet man.

Thanks, I painted another set with the same for a friend who has a lazer red HB, and very dark tinted windows. It looks even better on his car, but I dont have any pics.

I realize this is an ancient thread, but can you describe your process for painting the center caps? Did you just tight mask the horse emblem or remove it and glue it back on?

Mask it off the best you can with painters tape and spray it. Dont take it off.
