I plan on painting my quarter windows, after some prep work of course... I am going to use http://www.cox-internet.com/stangman/qtrtrim.html as a guide, but in this tutorial, the window is removed from the car. I started to remove the interior panels, and it seemed likea lot of work to remove the window (without breaking it), and then put it back in with new seals etc... would it work if I just painted the window while its still on the car? Overspray isnt a big deal cuz the car's getting painted anyway... same goes for scratching the paint with the sandpaper. Should I bite the bullet and take out the window, or mask her off and paint it while its on the car? thanks for any input!

There are a lot of people out there who have done exactly what you’re talking about. And as long as your getting your car painted later you've got nothing to lose.
I’d say as long as you mask off the glass real tight (you don't want to scratch the glass) and around the outer lip of the window, along with taking your time in the prep work you will be OK. I wouldn't use course grit sandpaper to sand with; I say start with 300 grit sandpaper and do a final sand with 600 grit. Then prime, sand and paint.
