Hello and Happy New Year to all,

I want to replace the parking brake assembly, under the dash, on my 65 Mustang Coupe.
I have removed the bracket bolts that attach it to the dash and the nuts that secure it to the firewall.
I have also removed the wheel .... but I cannot see how to detach the cable from the assembly to allow me to withdraw it.

Would appreciate some help with this.
Thanks in advance.

I have removed the cotter pin and the short shaft / pin through the center of the wheel / roller.
My problem is that the cable is still attached to the main shaft that moves through the parking brake assembly ... how do I separate the cable?

You have to have the unit out of the car ,pull this pin and pull the bar all the way out and you can remove the cable
