Long ago I performed the 9'" Versailles rear end swap and put on the rear disc brakes, too. Was never able to get the parking brake to work again and it fried the worm gear in the calipers that adjusted the pads, basically from not being used.
My question is whether or not there is a good rear disc brake option today that will work with our old parking brakes? Thanks in advance.

I finally got all of mine to work with the factory under-dash lever. It holds, but isn't going to hold against the engine.

Setup is real simple.

Versailles brake cables - cut the little keeper springs a bit so they were straight instead of bent when cable installed.
Made sure the pad clearance is adjusted right

Other than that, I did modify the under-car wiring a bit since I no longer had the mount for the little "hook" cable holder and wanted to smooth out the operation. Replaced the little "hook" with a pulley which works much better. Also, drilled out the lever arm and slipped in a bronze bushing. The cable runs to the Versailles cables and is clamped with cable clamps, it is connected to the lever arm with a turnbuckle so you can adjust the slack in the setup.

Overall I'm pretty pleased with it. It doesn't hold as good as a drum-in-disc parking brake, but it was a lot cheaper than throwing out everything I had invested in the Versailles setup.
