OK I'm looking for a new radiator for my Thunderbird...it's kind of a tossup right now between ordering an aluminum one, or getting a '93 Cobra radiator from the parts store. I was wondering about a few things about the '93 Cobra radiator...for one, I noticed there are two listed on Advance's website, one says "with HD cooling" and the other says "without HD cooling," and the one without is a good bit cheaper. Is the only difference that the one with HD has a built in tranny cooler? Also, this is a 3-row radiator right?

Or should I just get an aluminum radiator?

I have had mine for several years. It works great for the relatively mild 408w.
I originally went with the cobra unit because they had it at the parts store that day. I didn't have to pay overnight shipping.
Yes, it is a 3 row.
I didn't realize there were 2 options available. I ended up with the HD unit by chance. The cooler could also be used for oil. I may use mine for oil to provide quicker warmups.

Out of curiosity, What is the price difference between HD and non-HD?

For the money I would have to say go with the 93 cobra. The biggest advantage I can see to the Al is that it can be sized smaller for the same cooling ability, which means less weight. Maybe I'm not thinking of something?

Well, I already have the factory 2.3L Turbo oil cooler (hooked into the cooling system) so I don't need one in the radiator too.

Oh, and the price difference is $48 between the HD and non-HD radiator. $131 for the non-HD radiator is a pretty nice price.

There's another radiator listed for $85 (GO/DAN) that has a limited lifetime warranty...but I suspect it's probably your run-of-the-mill 2-row Mustang radiator.
