Cali Smog!!!

This is for people using search to figure out if they can pass smog with cams. Basically - yes. I'd suppose even stage II cams could be viable with these results mad: for not knowing).

Using stock 6 cat mid-pipe.

Mods:
MMR stage II heads (231/200cfm)
VT (CMS) stage 1 NA cams
Comp cam beehive valve springs
PI intake
Every bolt on besides LT headers which are illegal here.
3.73's

i also use Soltron every time I smog my car, it helps with CO emissions.
Soltron? Enzyme Fuel Treatment

Are those 6cats only on there for the smog test? I have zero cats.....ah, the smell of raw fuel when I step out of my car.

96 and on you can do whatever you want to the car and if you don't have the CEL on you will pass emissions unless they do a visual inspection then thats a different story.

Yeah Cali. is alot more strict. You don't want to mess with emissions there. Big time fines if caught. Glad I don't live there.

Right - thanks. I edited it to mention that - harshest laws here. You pass here, they'll take that certification anywhere in the US.

No visual or no emissions at all? Alot of emissions places closed up in my state. Getting alot less strict here. Older cars here don't even need to be tested anymore. I think it's cars before 85 though which is good for the people that own the antiques. They can drive them alot more and not have to apply for the antique plates.

South Carolina doesn't have visual or smog testing any more either.

You should see some of the trash we have on the roads here...

Nice job on passing, running cleaner than a Civic is doing pretty damn good...

i wish cali was anywhere near stopping their inspections. i've driven past a few "sniffer vans" usually set up on freeway on ramps trying to detect cars with excessive emissions. i think they use some sort of laser system to detect it

We have no emissions up here but, I am glad that it IS possible to pass it w/ cats. I guess that stock H DOES have some use after all.

SNIFFER VANS! Are you serious? This is why the state of California is on the verge of default on their municipal bonds. Spending $100,000.00 to issue a $100 ticket.

yup, once i even saw a trailer on the side of the road with a dyno on the back.
they were pulling cars over and testing emissions randomly.
