people with pypes violators

i looking to get some violators (maybe), i cant really make up my mind. i really liked the stingers but my dad doesnt want me to get anything real loud. so i was looking for something in the middle, how much louder are the violators than stock??

an axleback won't really make it super loud, unless you go straight pipes (slp loudmouths). Chambered (flowmaster, gibson, mac) are going to have a rumbly deep sound, and straight through (violators, magnaflow, corsa), will have sort of a mellow but better, purer sound from the engine. I've heard magnaflow and corsas in person which are both straight through design and they sound fantastic. maybe a little quieter than my gibsons.

I can set off car alarms a lot easier now with my axleback compared to stock. When you put a mid pipe on, that's when it truly gets loud.

The best position to record exhaust from outside the vehicle is behind and off to the side, NOT directly behind. Other factors that vary sound are quality of recording equipment, wind/noise interference in the recording and quality of the listeners speakers. There is also a huge difference in sound when the car is in neutral and under a load, be it cruising at a steady speed or acceleration. My Flows O/R H combo sounds nowhere near as good in neutral as it does driving.

yeah thats why i cant make up my mind about witch ones to get. they all sound different and i dont want to make the wrong decision

Also have to take into account the material may affect the sound. I have the unpolished version, he has the polished. That might affect the sound. Mine is also being recorded using an HD camcorder with 5.1 Dolby sound. Here's a soundclip I made using professional sound equipment from my studio. These were recording at the same time that before and after video was being taken.

I have the violators on my 07 GT and think they sound pretty good. I wasn't too impressed with them at first, but they've grown on me a bit. They don't drone too bad, they sound very good under accelaration (very good). At idle and while manuvering in the driveway they don't have much deffinition to the tone. Another thing to consider is the price. They are probably the least expensive axle backs out there and i think they are a good value FOR THE PRICE. Mine needed some modification to fit properly without leaking at the clamps. The tips do not have drain holes and my driver side rear hanger needed to be trimmed. When I took the muffler off to trim the hanger (after it had been on the car for a while) i noticed that it had a lot of water in it. No wonder i have so much condensation steaming out of my exhaust all the time.

Sorry for the very long post, but I just wanted to let you know what you might expect from this axle back option. Long story short: violators are a very good all around choice for under $200, but cannot compare to the quality of a more expensive system. Hope this helps!!
