Performance Ignition Parts Questions

If I were to install a new distributor, ignition module, and coil what type of performace increase would I expect? How much would hp be increased by? Also, I have one more question, what exactly is an ignitor? I dont know very much about ignitions, so any answers to these questions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i currently have the MSD6A, MSD blaster coil, and some nice wires since the pics were taken and I noticed that there was a *little* bit of difference above 3000 rpms... the msd unit fires 2 sparks at low rpms, and one long spark at higher rpms... call me crazy but *I* did notice a very small gain. keep in mind my motor is far from stock though... im sure if anything it just helped out the current mods that I have...

I agree,I also installed an MSD6A & blaster coil on my basically stock stang.
I had an increase of gas mileage from 27 to 30mpg.It also seemed to run
smoother.

(gas price) / (mpg) = old cost per mile
(gas price) / (new mpg) = new cost per mile
old cost per mile - new cost per mile = $$ savings
MSD ignition (ignition + coil) / $$ savings = how many miles till you break even

so a general assumption:

$1.60 / 25 = .064
$1.60 / 28 = .057
.064 - .057 = .007
$200 / .007 = 28571 miles

average miles per year = 15,000+

3 years you break even.

I've owned my car for almost 7 years now... I wouldve saved $200+...AND had a smoother idle, more power, and better emissions for the enviroment (SAVE THE TREE'S!!!) keep in mind those #'s are just guesstimated... for a while gas prices have been up near $2 per gallon!!!

i think thats a decent "gain"

Will this work on both the N/A and Turbo applications?
If so, I would like to know where I can find this on the net to look at it and the coil.

Hoss do you have N/A or Turbo
Mine is n/a (for now)...I bought the coil at Autozone.I paid $80.00(used)
for the MSD6A.Some might think it's a waste of money but I did
get some benefits as stated.
