ran a best [email protected] at Bristol dragway in TN....sept. '04

Same car sept. '05 14.44@?mph

After install of Cobra u/l,BBK 70mm tb,BBK [email protected]

Fuel and ignition system checks out ok........so whats the deal?....i was expecting high 13's after the last mods......any suggestions?

all runs were on street tires with low to mid 2.2x 60 fts.

You should be shifting higher with the new changes. How do you know the fuel checked out ok? You could be a little lean up top from the added air from the new mods. Street tires and shi tty 60's aren't helping either.

Not too bad. You gotta remember that the potential increase in hp of any single mod increases with other mods. For example, when I put my heads on I still had stock H-pipe and intake. But, my car ran .4sec faster. When I put on the catted x-pipe the car picked up another .25sec. Finally put the Explorer intake on and ran .36s faster. They all work together.

So, you put a Cobra u/l intake and only knocked off a tenth. Well, with stock heads and that four catted H-pipe I am not surprised. Maybe the stock heads really are the biggest bottle-neck in a stock system:shrug:

FWIW I installed my headers early in the mod list like you and they didn't help at all on 1/4ET.

oh yeah i also have a Mac off-road h-pipe on that dumps right before the rear end

ignition system has less than 10k miles on it....plugs,wires,dist. cap.,rotor button,coil........i have a fuel pressure gage installed on the car and pressure seems to on par....i know the 60 fts. suck,i just posted that for informational purposes

yeah its a 5-speed.....my main concern is the times(and mph) not improving after the intake, headers,tb install....i know my 60 ft times need work......as stated before the 60 ft times were posted for informaton purposes

before the intake i was shifting at 5000....after the intake i tried shifting at 5500 but it didnt seem to make much difference....something else i forgot to mention is all 8 of my plugs look brand new,but theyve been in the car for at least 6 months. There is absolutely no color on the porcelin, and they were like that before the intake........lean?

was the weather different between the 3 runs that can make a big difference running in the heat and mostly the humidity can slow you way down.

as i recall the first run in '04 it was rather cool that night.....the last run in '06 it was god awful hot......could i have lost .3 or so from that?

You give no sig but from what I can tell, you still are runnn stock inj's and maf.

Unless you have jacked up the fuel pressure, I'd say you most likely are runnin a bit lean.

The GT's are pretty well known to be setup like that from day one.

friend of mine has a '92 GT that is bone stock with the exception of a t-70 turbo kit(w/ bigger inj. of course). He runs a wideband inside the car and said his plugs looked the same, but his AFR according to the wideband stays around 11.5-12:1.........

Yes a 70mm tb flows more then a cobra (and the like) intake can handle, an average 94/95 cobra flows an average of 198 cfm (unported) while a BBK 70mm tb flows 726cfm. The stock Ford 60mm tb flows 526 CFM which is more then enough....

I knew I had heard this before, I just didn't remember the numbers. You're a damn computer Wyt. Thanks:nice:
