Performance vs weather?

Hi guys.

I just test drove my new Mustang for the first time (bought it damaged). The only mods are 4.10s, Flowmaster catbacks, MAC OR h-pipe and MAC CAI. It was pretty cold (about 5 degrees Celcius) and I was REALLY, REALLY impressed with the acceleration. My previous car was a modded 944 Turbo boosting @ 18 PSI and the Mustang was almost (95%) as impressive.

Will the performance decrease MUCH when it will be warmer (20-25 degrees Celcius)? The Porsche was night and day in both situations, will it be the same thing with the V8 or if it breaths a bit better?

Just want to be sure if it'll always put a huge smile on my face like it did tonight.

There is a difference between hot and cold air temp. For the most part it is: 10 deg F per 1 HP. So the HP output of the mustang will vary with temp. I don't think it is that bad but it is noticable.

These cars are really impressive. They're so underestimated that I was waiting for a sluggish but fun to drive car. It's NOT sluggish. I gave a ride to two friends (a 13.2 seconds Civic owner and a Stage 1 SRT-4 owner). They both didn't believe that these were my only mods. 4.10s rule.

Also, enjoy the mustang!!!

They are pretty decent sports cars. I know several engineers who have porsches and BMWs and my modded mustang is comparable.

The beauty of mustangs is the availibility of aftermarket parts. Add some suspension mods and a poweradder and the mustang is really fun!

I already have some Sportlines (without S&S... but still). The ride quality is pretty decent, handling is good. There's a noticeable 'knock' coming from both rear sides on big bumps. I will have to check.

I would bottom out, on the stock S & S sometimes, so I upgraded to tokico 5 way s&s. Check the bump stop above the axle (in the center area), they should be present and in good condition.
