One would think the custom cam would at
least close up the gap some, if not all.
IMHO, one of the biggest advantages of a custom cam is having the ability to tell your cam guy where your focus is on the combo.
Example: I told Ed my car was all about
the street and I wanted a tq curve that came on early and was broad to the red line.
Did you see the post above where I talked about doing it all over again?
What ever results I have achieved at this point in time and
"if I was to do it all over again" would not be possible with a custom tune.
Jason, if you are gonna try and build this combo without a tune ...
Very Most Likely ...... Power is gonna be left on the table and drivability will become an issue.
One can't have his cake and eat it too in this matter
because
When one makes his decisions based upon his pcm not freaking
then
One has to settle for less power to achieve drivability
You said you want 300+ rwhp and the goal I have in mind is in the 325 to 350rwhp range.
btw ... Did you notice
both of these combos have custom tunes?
one last thing Jason
Low LSA's causing idle issues is nothing but Internet Myth for peeps who Custom Tune.
You might find it interesting to know I have found Low LSA's in quite a few combos that produce dyno curves which I think are impressive.
I don't in any way claim to understand a whole lot about cam specs or cam timing events and such
but
I do find it interesting that Low LSA's are common in those combos.
