So I spent the day getting the car cleaned up, and my buddy Brent wanted to go play with his new-ish DSLR. So after putting a new header gasket on (damn you BBK longtubes!), we took the car out do a deserted neighborhood, and this is what we came up with. Took high ISO, long exposure shots, and "painted" them with LED and halogen lights. The effects came out pretty cool. Keep in mind, this is not HDR, and we only played with the colors in Adobe Lightbox (?), no Photoshopping.

Again, these were shot between 12 and 2 at night, so while it may look like day in the background, that's just 30 seconds of light getting caught in the lens. This was his technique, and he just wanted to play around, so I was happy to oblige. Thanks for looking!

He took the pictures

I can't believe I registered just to post this. Credit deserves to go where credit is due.

OP took all of those shots, he framed them, set up the direction of the car and chose all the angles we shot. All I was responsible for was the technical details of making what he wanted in the picture happen.

Pictures were taken w/ an eos 1000d. I forgot my remote trigger so we were limited to 30 second exposures. ISO/F were set where they needed to be in order to get a full exposure.

We painted the car using a LED, Krypton minimag, and standard flashlight. That's how we were able to get non standard lighting w/o alot of hard shadows. It let's you choose what you want to stand out.

All of the "editing" that was done used Adobe Lightroom. Nothing that was done to these pictures couldn't have been done in a darkroom. The "color" changes that we made were just adjusting the overall temperatures.

Gotta hand it to all you guys, after looking around a bit this seems to be a pretty awesome forum with some amazing cars. Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys....I appreciate it. Not bad for a 105k mile chassis (motor/tranny/suspension have much less on them), daily driver, stock paint (believe it or not).

It's not the faster car, or the cleanest car on Stangnet, but it's my baby and I love her!

Oh, and my family has taken to calling the car "Eva," "The Black Beast," or "Demon Car" after the sinister look the car has. The e-fan is also wired to the thermostat and goes on/off for approximately 20 minutes after the car goes off, and scares the hell out of people in the driveway....thus "Demon Car."

Nice shots! As a fellow photographer, I know how difficult it is to be creative in the heat of the moment. Great Job ! LOL... and the car's nice too!

I love this car, which is why i nominated it and bugged the owner for newer pics. My car is either getting 18" black saleens or those exact FR500s. Gorgeous.
