So I've got a set of PI Cams and Steeda underdrive pulleys that are going to be going on my GT this weekend, but I got a couple questions about them first.

Concerning the cams, the PI cam bolt is a 10 mm, TTY bolt, correct? I think I remember reading that before, but couldn't find anything in a quick search. Because I haven't seen the cams yet (living at school, car is at home), and I'm not sure if the bolts are included, where would I need to buy them from if they are not included?

Concerning the UDs, because I have an automatic, will it be a big deal to get the crankshaft bolt off? I ask because when I swapped out the lower supercharger pulley on my grandma's Lightning, I had to use a special tool to lock the torque converter in place to hold the engine from turning over. Do I have to do something like that with my car? Or will it not turn over? Or is there an easier way, such as using an impact wrench (if it will fit)?

Thanks for the help.

You are going to need an impact gun to break the crank bolt lose with the auto. I have a 5 speed and just used a breaker bar to remove the bolt. I believe in the instruction it states to use a impact gun for auto's. Pearl02.

Update:

Got the pulleys on Sunday evening. Not bad at all; took me about 2 hrs altogether. I can tell a little difference, nothing all that much. It does rev up WAY quicker, though, so I figure I got at least a few hp out of em. I have no problems cooling or charging. Now if I'm sitting still, in drive with my foot on the brake, AC on, lights on, and my radio (about 1000 watts altogether) blasting, the voltage needle drops some, but is still well in the normal range. And as soon as I touch the gas, the needle goes right back up. I drove 2 hrs yesterday at 80 mph, and had absolutely no problem cooling at all. Temp gauge stayed exactly where it always does.

So my overall thoughts on the pulleys: :nice:

As for the cams, I couldn't get them in this weekend b/c I didn't have the bolts, and was busy almost all weekend anyway. I went to my local Ford dealership and got the bolts ordered; they're supposed to be here tomorrow. I'll be getting the cams in next time I come home from school, about 2 weeks from now. And I can hardly wait.:D

Yea, I will for sure, especially if I come up with any questions. I think I got all my bases covered for now though. I'm only a little worried about the valve cover gaskets, and whether I'll be able to reuse them. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

And yes, my grandma has a Lightning. :D CAI, pullied, chip, exhaust, and it will haul balls. It will sure spank mine or my granddad's Mustangs. Previous owner claimed to have outrun a LS1 Trans Am from a roll. Whether they did or not . But that was before the pulley, chip, and exhaust. I certainly believe that it will now, tho. And it's a blast to drive! :nice:
