i know that when people have 96-98 mustangs they usually do the Pi, H/C/i swap to run with the 99+ mustangs. i also know that they can even be a little faster due to higher compression. what is the compression usually. would it be too high to put on a blower?

compresion on 99-00 engines is 9.0:1. the 01-04 engines are 9.4 or 9.5, i can't remember which. a headswapped 96-98 will yeild 10.0:1. you can supercharge at 10:1, but it really isn't a good idea. if you get some bowl work done on the heads, you can lower the compression. ideally you want to be around 8:1 to 9:1 for boost.

Just do the PI headswap then grind out the swirl dams and your compression will be right around the same as the 99+ GT's it might still be a little bit higher but it will be safe to run a blower on it then. If u do get a blower as soon as you can get forged rods because the ones in there suck and also forged pistons will help also.

don't raise the compression and then add boost... the two are like... your hot mistress and your wife, don't ever let them meet.

But Nitrous is a different story, loves compression. So it's like a threesome with your mistress and her best friend ;)
