Sorry if I over looked it, I have searched a few times...

My gt came with a npi intake with the aluminum cross over... I have seen several crossover tubes for sale by themselves, and several plastic pi intakes for sale... Obviously at a much lower cost...

Can I put my crossover tube on a plastic PI intake?

Thanks.

Is it possible the cross over is from a different car? My Son's 2005 5.4 F150 has a separate crossover. If course it won't work for you because the 2005 is a 3V motor.

How about some pictures?

However, I have to side with Nightfire. I don't think it would work either.

The all plastic intake is serviceable if two tricks are remembered. Install using the correct torque and pattern. And don't every let it run low on coolant. That is what breaks them.

I had an aluminum crossover on my stock NPI intake manifold. When I bought the PI manifold w/ an alum crossover I swapped crossovers so I didn't have to drill and tap the 2nd coolant sensor hole.

I want to clarify the question:

If you are talking about putting you NPI Al. crossover on a PI intake with a plastic crossover, then it isn't possible. Far as I know, the plastic crossover is molded in with the intake and can not be separated.

If you are talking about putting your NPI Al crossover on a PI intake that originally had an aluminum crossover, then it is possible and works quite well. In fact, when I was installing my PI intake, I decided to use my NPI Al crossover so I wouldn't have the mess with the Alternator bracket or drilling extra holes for sensors. I think I still have a PI Al. crossover in the garage.
