PI Manifold/Cam swap Questions
Let me start off by saying that the search button has been my best friend for the past couple days and i've found quite a few articles relating to the topic at hand. On that note, there are a few questions that i'm still a little iffy on and would rather risk getting flamed for asking a question that might already be answered than to not ask and totally eff up my car...
1) In this picture, is the circled yellow area the part that is supposed to be tapped for the 2nd coolant sensor and is it just supposed to be tapped to the exact same specs as the one the arrow points to?
2) Am I supposed to reuse the gasket from the stock manifold (as well as the Valve covers) and then just use BLACK RTV to seal up the areas that need to be sealed on the PI manifold or should I be getting new gaskets? Also does it matter what RTV color i use? I just bought blue/red RTV and believe we have black so i'm set, just don't know what type to use where...Red on the Valve Cover and black or blue on the manifold?
3) In Hotmustangs VT cam install thread he talks about cam bolts needing to be replaced or something...is that an issue with a PI cam swap or should it just be a "pull the old cam out put the new one in and bolt everything back up" situation?
I'll probably be comming up with other questions as I think along this so please bear with me on this lol. Alls i'm waiting on is for the cams to arrive and for a free weekend to happen and i'll be doing the swap...and of course I have to get my hands on a Haynes manual.
